save earth...

1.There is a cute small round press button at the bottom right corner of almost all monitors: Please make use of this,

2. Stop printing out Harry Porter, Jeffrey Archer and other e-books. This is a classic example of paper wastage.

If you have forgotten to give double-side prints, make sure you make use of the empty sides as scribbling pads

3.Take two minutes from your busy schedule before hurrying back home to shut down the computer.

4.All of us are big time Googlers. Have you heard of the Blackle search engine? Blackle (Google powered) is a search engine designed all in Rich Black so that your system consumes less power. So change your homepage.

5.Plastic bags these days indeed come in bright and flamboyant colours and tempt us to take them home with us. But the saying, "Appearances are deceptive" holds true for these plastic things too. Next time, hold back or go prepared to counter temptation with a cloth bag.

6.Roses, Jasmine, Hibiscus and Peas; All these saplings cost hardly between Rs 10 - 20 each. Can't we afford to plant these in and around our houses? Also, more importantly, caring and maintain them as they grow?

7.Try to segregate the different kinds of waste into Bio-Degradable (Fruit or vegetable waste) , Recyclable (waste Paper, paper products) and Electronics (Floppy disks, CD-ROMS ). Once you have segregated your thrash, look for specialized trash cans to throw them away.

8.Try to minimize the use of horns. Honking drastically increased and this adds to the noise pollution and does not provide a conducive environment to live in.

9.Use rechargeable batteries though it's an expensive product, it's one-time purchase. Recharge when required. (Same applies to cell-phones, MP3s, iPods and Laptops)

10.The best pens to use would be ink ones. Though if you have to use a ball point pen, buy refills instead of buying new pens. Pencils are much better for rough use! (That's why we used it at school!!!)

11.Remember to close water taps before preening in front of the mirror. Of course you are beautiful, but Water is a precious resource!

12.Let's not just wake up and walk out of finished meetings and conferences with a sigh of relief, let us remember to turn off the lights and projectors too.

13.Take few minutes to learn about topics like 'Global Warming' , 'Air / Noise /Land / Water Pollution ' etc apart from constant surfing of News, Latest Gadgets, Movies and Music.

The Earth has already become a dangerous place to live in for the animals and birds. Soon it might be our turn. So let's pledge to save our beautiful planet so that you and your future generations can live happily and peacefully ever after.

it was loud!!!

This was during my long days in a critical project. It had been a dream to leave home early from office. Everybody in the team was working so hard to meet the deadlines. On the very first day when I joined that project I was asked to stay back till a particular time. It was followed by all the team members in that project.

Once when I had finished all my work an hour in advance, I had decided to leave.
Since my manager was sitting with one of my team mates in the next chair, I was not very comfortable to walk out of the place. At the same time, I had to leave as I had some personal work... I packed my bag and silently started from my place. As I was afraid that my phone will start ringing and it would draw my manager's attention, I then put it in silent mode.

I usually use a pouch to keep my phone to prevent scratches. The mistake I made before keeping the phone back is that, I did not lock my keypad. My phone being XpressMusic has keys on sides too. When I was about to keep the phone back in the pouch, the 'play' key was pressed accidentally and the song "Khuda jaane" started with full volume.. It was such an embarrassment the whole floor started looking at me!!!! some thought it was my ring-tone. My manager burst into laughter as he had seen all my efforts to leave early and said "Bye, go soon, else you will miss your bus". I literally ran from there not because I will miss my bus, but to save my face....

Friends Forever!!!!

My husband and I had been to Mysore recently. When we were in the premises of the palace, there was a photographer who bugged us to take a picture of us. We then agreed to him, he made us stand in all possible directions and struggled to click one single good picture. As it was a sunny day, I was not able to open my eyes completely and every time he clicked the picture was
as if I have closed my eyes. He then made us stand in shade and tried to click the last photo as he termed it to be. But this time my hubby was not able to open his eyes in shade!!! With great difficulty the photographer managed to click a beautiful picture of ours when both of us had kept our eyes wide open. On the way back from the Palace, when I was admiring the picture, we started thinking of a title to that picture. The first thing came to my mind was "Friends Forever".
My hubby started laughing when I suggested this. Of course he liked it.
I was then lost in thoughts… Can't a married couple be friends? Is that relationship different from friendship? Can I never treat my husband as a friend.... how is he different from my other friends?

dedicated to my friend!!!!!!

Hello Bloggers/readers!!!!
I am little nervous as this is my first blog.. let me tell you, the inspiration for me to write blogs is my friend Manasa... I was impressed by her blog as she writes all of her experience, be it good or bad in a way that interests the reader. I'm really proud to have a friend like her who is so talented in many things. She reads a lot, paints, blogs, a big fan of photography, likes aerobics, dancing.. the list goes on... Makes use of the personal time to the fullest which I find really amazing!!! her weekend activities would be shopping, visiting lalbagh shows(with her SLR camera which is her best companion), watches plays in Rangashankara, movies.. A great mobile freak and puts movies, docs in her 80 GB iPod..
I have hardly seen such a lively person who can dedicate time for all of her personal interests without compromising on the professional life...
These days she is having a hectic schedule at work, she is really overworked... I wish she gets some time to relax and get back to her other activities.....
Hope this is not boring, watch out for more interesting blogs in this space!!!!!!
